Had a kick ass time with Solisis' roomie tonight. He met me at the LGBT center and we went to this thing about lesbian dating, lol. Also, he was wearing cool goth clothes and carrying around a Stitch doll, which just confused the crap out of everybody, hahaha! We went to the oxygen bar and got good and high on O2, so i'm kinda out of it right now 'cause I had 25 minutes and an herbal cocktail ('specially formulated for beauty properties!!!! God, I am such a femme).
Speaking of which, went shopping today and purchased the essentials: Hairspray and coconut body butter...hee....
So yeah. The lesbian dating comedy thing sucked. None of the performers were really funny except for maybe 2 and there weren't any girls my age there. Blah! Most of them were above 30, i'd wager. Well, there was one cute girl that performed, but she was surrounded by people after the show so I didn't want to interrupt.
I did find the main performer funny, since the whole show was to celebrate this new book she wrote that makes fun of lesbian dating. All of her generalizations are so frickin' accurate it's scary. Like how everybody knows everybody else in the community through exes, how everybody always wants to be "friends", how you always end up with the not-girlfriend girlfriend who just wants to fuck you while she sees one of her exes and totally uses the "I'm not ready for a relationship" line to the point of becoming nauseating.
I think it's kind of sad that this chick picked up on all of the generalizations too and that they're all correct. I wanted to buy the book but didn't, because I basically knew all the stuff she wrote about and I make fun of it too. Lately, i've been thinking about doing the DORKIEST thing in the world...
I've been thinking about writing a secret lesbian romance novel. I want to create a character that I can fall in love with, one who would be my dream woman, and interact with her in the fiction. But it'll be totally cheesy and I won't show anybody the story, ever. I'm just at this point where I need to believe there is actually hope out there, so I think if I dream up this story it will give me not only something positive to fantasize about, but perhaps give me a better blueprint on what I want in real life.
Too much Ann Bannon!!!! She said she created Beebo Brinker as her ideal butch when she was a 1950's housewife in a loveless marriage and wanted to be a lesbian so badly. She had to pour her heart and soul into this character and fall in love with her in her novels because she couldn't do it in real life.
I think I want to try this too. But I'll hide it 'cause it'll be HORRIBLY cheesy, I promise you this! Yeah, you'll get nothin' but cynicism from ol' B-femme **Spits in spittoon**
