I'm so glad I have absolute confirmation that my Stacey stories aren't boring, lol. I just got through hanging out with her again, too. It's 5am.
Basically, after my last journal entry, we proceeded to talk on the phone for 5 hours straight. Excerpt from actual conversation:
"Dude, have you ever eaten Red Swedish Fish?" -Stacey
"I haven't even heard of them." -Me
"Oh. That obviously makes me the cooler one." -Stacey **Pause before we both bust into laughter**
She informed me of all sorts of interesting things, like her High School nickname was "The Bone Crusher" because she broke the various limbs of at least 7 people in sports. In her words, "If it doesn't involve the crushing of bones, it isn't a sport...cheerleading is not a sport." There is only one thing about her that both alarms me and intruiges me:
She is invulnerable to pain. She neither likes it nor fears it, and thrives on crazy stunts to see how much she can take. The girl has broken blocks of ice with her head!!! She's gotten first class concussions skateboarding. She played soccer for an entire semester with a broken foot before being forced to go to the doctor. She says she likes to do these things to prove that she won't cry. I don't know how to take that. She says she will cry if emotionally hurt, but that physical pain really means nothing to her. Hmm...
Well anyway, I thought she was so sweet. We were eating dinner and she asked what my ex's name was, and I told her N's name. She said, "Oh, you can tell her MY name, and you can tell her it's 'the bonecrusher.' I promise i'll protect you from her, she won't come near you." Stacey is a perfect gentleman, if that makes any sense. She opens doors for me and treats me like a princess. I can't remember the last time someone has been so genuinely good to me w/out that mack daddy vibe I abhor so.
Need further proof? After dinner we went back to her place and had it all to ourselves. She didn't even make any moves on me. She showed me her stuffed monkey that she has to cuddle with to fall asleep (but is embarrassed to admit it). We laid down on the floor sharing a pillow, swaddled in a huge comforter, watching Nickolodeon. I thought for sure she'd go for the goods then. My eyes were shut and I felt her hand move...but only to run her fingers through my hair. For a while she fell asleep and I marvelled over how she looked like such a perfect angel. Then I fell asleep and when I opened my eyes, I barely caught her watching me too.
So then I woke up at like 4:30am and she escorted me home! I was like "Dude, i'm so far away, just go back to bed and cuddle your monkey" but she wouldn't do it, saying she worried about me and that she would be alright going back by herself, 'cause she's the bonecrusher. Even then, back at my place, she didn't go in for a good night kiss; she just gave me a really tight hug for a long time and that innocent grin of hers.
I think I can't even remember the last time someone hasn't treated me like just another number, just another body. Nobody's been this genuinely good to me since I was 16, and i'm amazed she hasn't made any moves yet. Stacey still has her soul intact and her small-town sense of right, she's not jaded like the rest of the big city girls.
I guess she said that since I paid for dinner tonight that she'll pay for a date tomorrow, whoo hoo! I finally feel like she reciprocates the same amount of affection I give to her, usually nobody has the consideration to match it. I was pissed, on the way home some crazy guy started hitting on her and wouldn't leave her alone, he asked her out for coffee in front of me. I don't think i've ever been on a date where a guy does NOT hit on the girl i'm seeing, and it's insulting, even if it's flattering 'cause I have good taste in girls. They especially do it when they know for sure you're together because you're holding hands. Like they have something to prove, like "Ahhahaha i'm such a manly pirate man that I can get your girl and you won't stop me" or something to that effect.
Needless to say, she said no. lol. Too bad for that sucka, 'cause she's already going on a date with me!
