Backdoor Musing #1

The walls perspired slightly in the morning after sunlight, the storms had been unkind to the landscape but the air smelled pleasant after so many days of oppressive heat. I inhaled deeply, as if something might snatch away the smoke, and exhaled with a quick thrust of creaking lungs. Betty was always eager to greet the first one to the back door, she had taken the worst in the storms by virtue of her having to be closed outside with little shelter; she meowed and darted about the patio furniture failing to ever remember that her food was at her paws. I saw the sluggish Bumble bee agonized in its lumbered walk across the marble slabs, apparently there is a mite epidemic in the fascinating world of bees; The mites dog pile the backs of the unsuspecting creature until they number so many that flight is no longer an option. Sadly, these drones putter about until trampled, eating, or burnt by the sun-for you know-even to much sunshine will a crush the living.
Betty-seemed to understand that I was captivated by something other then her and slyly carved a quick survey of the area to pinpoint my current affection. Her hair stood on nimble tippy-toes as the tingle of hunt began to well inside of her, she bowed low like a queen of savage death; Greeting her prey like the fiercest cat to ever walk the soil of South Philadelphia, but in a micro second that all changed to the bewildered and nave face of a kitten. Her instinct told her the poor thing was seconds from having the flame blown out in the petit candle of its life, visible, was a strange sense of profound sadness and respect for what would normally be a quick snack of the brunch buffet of life. I watched all this, as wave after wave of heavy, burdensome human thoughts pounded the shores of my psyche; I was deeply moved by the display, so much so, that I had a great epiphany into the workings of the real world. It is in the tiny grace of a kitten, or the never-ending unconditional love in the smile of my children that gives me a true life example of what it means to have dignity, courage, and a fanatic grasp of lovehere, at the back steps of a normal house in the world is where the true opportunity for humbling is free for the taking if I allow myself to hear.

I've never actually taken anybody off, as far as I know. I always thought you took me off. confused

For that matter, I always thought Cheech took me off his list, too. Maybe he didn't after all. I always figured that this kinda list is personal enough that if somebody has a reason for removing me, it's not for me to question...
