Hm, I found out relatively recently that "humble pie" doesn't have anything to do with humility, but is a bastardization of "umble pie" which refers to the umbilical cords of various animals which were baked in pies (which bespeaks to a certain degree of desperation, obviously)

Once again, no wonder people died sooner. But actually, that is misinformation, It was not uncommon for people to live to 100 even, say, 200 years ago.. the only reason the average (ie, mean) lifespan is longer now is because of less infant mortality.

And yes, that's us smile kiss I have other random videos, but I think that's my favorite of them. Makes me miss home, but in a good way smile
