The house is shaping up nicely. Pictures on the wall now, so it's getting nice and homey. Spaghetti night, 'cause it's easy. A.C. in the livingroom only, so it's commando runs into the kitchen. Chop onions, run back to the livingroom. Fry turkey, run back to the livingroom. You get the picture.

Been away from my painting studio WAY too long. I woke up this morning and had to, just HAD to, do something visual. I paint and write pretty much constantly, but sometimes I switch gears from one to the other pretty abruptly. So, with no chance of painting, I had to do something. I grabbed me mumz cheap digital camera, ran outside before the sun was high enough to kill me, and snapped a few shots. I love to take so-called lesser equipment and push it's limits to get something new, exploiting the so-called flaws of the tool and turn them into strengths.
The grainy, phantom-color quality of this $20 camera is perfect for what I like to do. Colors that are not there somehow appear. Outside, there was a two foot tall, thick, plastic angel that had become weathered and stained.
I sat it up on the sidewalk and next to the stairs, and shot away.
In my 'pics' section, you can see some of the best shots of my efforts arranged into a series. I'm pleased.
Almost as pleased as I am with my beloved Polaroids.

In your profile... What other minimalist classical do you like? Do you like ol' Arvo?
I have not heard anything by Glenn Branca, maybe I'll find it at the library.
The problem with minimalist classical especially is that it's so performance-sensitive, recordings are so hit-or-miss. It's compounded by the fact that for whatever reason it tends to attract pretentious musicians, which always comes through in recordings. I got frustrated with wading through all of it and haven't been trying to listen to new stuff lately.
