The construction of variability. I could hear

The thumping of the journey, the nightly
Rudimentary advancement of blame, the
Agitation of those not self-amused

The intricate crocus of their playless
Mechanics made fugitive in the rhythms
Of loyalty: "It prefers stone, this

Peace. It prefers the pleasing juice
Of the principle petal to be loosed
Upon the wall rubbed round, the raw

Thick curve of sound as the hissing sun

Comes 'round

To upset the garden

And make it grow..."
