You! You have been summoned to embark upon an epic quest! There will probably be talking puppets, either one or both of the Coreys, sentient video games, David Bowie's huge wang and bad synth pop involved, but you must be brave. Fuck yeah kids, we're having a geeky eighties movie costume party. Think of whatever movie (or TV show. Or movie of a TV show) you watched as a kid in the 80s ALL THE FUCKING TIME and come dressed up as a character from that. Pretty simple. There'll be the usual requisite drinkin' and dancin' (it's not like we listen to much else other than New Wave at our parties anyway, right?) as well as a movie room for watching some of the previously referred to geeky '80s movies. For those of you who need a little kick start for your imagination, here are some suggestions of movies and TV shows you could grab your look from:
Dark Crystal, Legend, Neverending Story, Labyrinth, Last Unicorn, Repo Man, Ladyhawke, Willow, Gremlins, Blade Runner, Last Starfighter, Dune, GI Joe , Transformers, Masters Of The Universe, Karate Kid, Rainbow Brite, Jem And The Holograms, Goonies, Adventures In Babysitting, Princess Bride, Tron, Supergirl, UHF, Robocop, Ghostbusters, The Lost Boys, Monster Squad, The Wizard, Thrashin, Breakin & Breakin 2: Electric Boogaloo, Gleaming The Cube, Heathers, Stand By Me (Only if you dress up as the dead kid), Dream A Little Dream (Only if you dress up like Corey Feldman), Little Monsters, Pee Wees Big Adventure, Flash Gordon, Mad Max, A Team , Knight Rider, Battlestar Galactica, Buck Rogers ...

You get the idea. I'm sure you can all think of a bunch more than that. Don't worry though, cuz costumes are encouraged but not required. We're discouraging dressing up as people from any John Hughes movies other than Weird Science, simply because we'd end up with a house full of about five hundred Duckies (me included) and Molly Ringwalds and we want you to try harder than that.
