This weekend was up and down. Friday night my darlin and I decided to stay in but I can't remember anything too memorable about the evening. Saturday day was great. We went to the U-District Farmer's Market and the library and I got my first library card since I was a kid (woo hoo!) and we looked at old bookstores and then we took a really nice walk through Ravenna Park. That night we threw together last minute costumes ( I was Sheriff Ninja and Shan was Artemis) and went to Shan's boss's party where we proceeded to begin the drunkeness. From there we went and caught the end of the Cripples set at the Lobo (though I was a bit bummed because we didn't get to see The Hotrollers who were done up as very sexy Bride Of Frankensteins) and then .. well from there began what ended up as a very fun mistake because we went to a party at our friend Brian's house and kept drinking until about 5 A.M. and I wrestled (amicably) with two girls dressed as Avril Lavigne and Marilyn Monroe because they wanted to steal my skull & crossbones belt buckle and finally Shan and I ended up sitting in as corner singing Leonard Cohen and Billy Bragg songs to each other.
All of which was a joy!
BUT ... in the morning ...
So the alarm clock had been knocked off the table in the stumbling about when we got home the night before, somehow setting it FORWARD an hour. Also, I thought daylight savings was starting Sunday night rather than Saturday. So the clock was two hours ahead of time. So we waje up and the clock says 10:50 AM and Shan has to be at work at 11AM and we freak out and stumble around and go rushing off to her work and I drop her off and go home and realize that all the clocks in the house are different from each other and check the online world clock and low and behold ...
So Shannon went and got something to kill her hatchet-like hangover and took a nap in the store until it was actually time to open and I went back to bed.
All of which meant that we were pretty tuckered out by the time we got to the venue for Glenn Or Glennda? that night, so we were pretty subdued and things were kind of weird in general at the show, but the actual performance was fucking great and hopefully I can track down somebody who took pictures and get some up on here.
Huzzah. Happy Halloween. Hopefully tommorow won't suck in a gigantic, national history kind of way.
