Six days since.

And a ton of photos.****

And arguements.

And a sleep-over.*

And regret, but not.*

And bad times.

And good times.

And birthdays.**

And bars.

And car chases (not really).

And interest.

And I've got something to talk about. Something beautiful.***



***She walked up, early forties, with her son on the cart. Looked down to fill out an order form.

When I look over it's business as usual but I was being watched by something breadbox size with big eyes. This little boy with brown hair and a dirty lemon shaped face, watching watching.

When I looked over he smiled, beaming and I smiled back. Smile, then look away at the lanes and the lines of customers filing out.

Something snaps and I waited to look again. Then on take two I see he's still looking at me smiling and beaming. I smiled again, but this time I smile because he has the most amazing eyes I've ever seen. Taken back, like I've just found something no one else has, I looked at his mother and ask her if the form she's filling out was presenting any problems. She looked up, said no, and smiled and thanked me for asking.

And she had the same eyes.

Exactly the same eyes.

Round, big DARK eyes so brown they're black. Huge dark eyes. They look like a pair of angels or pixies. Straight out of some fantasy land I can't even imagine except that I saw it first hand.

I commented on the similarity in a slight state of shock, and she messes up his hair and they look at each other and she says smiling,

"You're my kid, right?" And chuckled.

And they look at each other and you could feel in that interaction how much she loved him. And you could feel how safe he knew he was.

And she looked back, and she said to me, "I'm pretty proud of him." And I was speechless.

And they walked away. And I looked for a camera.



**Friday was a full moon. Friday was fifteen kinds of fun. Friday wasn't anyone's birthday, but it was mildly amazing. Friday was supposed to be an early celebration, and it was but with no real reason. Just a good night. Just some new friends. Just about 300 pictures. But that's probably going to have to wait until next time.



*I'm really glad that nothing happened. And mornings with people you wish weren't there are not the right way to start your day.

Fuck this. I should drink more V-8.
