poetry (?) -
sometimes it sounds like crowing.
a vocal distinction, and very subtle, that was (at one time) someone on the verge of wishing themselves out of existance, but it's different now.
not like before, where that wistfullness was caught on the corners of vowel sounds, sometimes even as much as nonchalance. a soft voice, strained and low.
i caught that moment, i snagged my head on it.
now it sounds worried for it's own life, and how far have we come?
"i told you so," hurts as much to say as it must to hear. let me in because i've given as much, but make me want to leave and i'll take it how i can, where i can and with whoever takes it with me.
every act i take to run away is misdirected. every step i take towards you finds me farther away from who i am and sometimes happier, sometimes out of breath.
