There is a small restaurant I went to all the time up on the mountain south of town. It closed last Fall and is now open under new management.
They built a large deck back in the trees next to the place and my friend Chad played there last night. It was a lot different than the raucous bar scene he usually plays in, everyone was drinking iced tea and soft drinks and the audience was made up of people who live on the mountain.
Chad had his amp turned way down so the same songs sounded way strange and while he was playing no one talked or whispered but chipmunks were chattering during the early songs. I have watched Chad for about five years but this was one of the strangest performances I have seen him do.
This new venue is so new the deck was literally finished hours before Chad started. and the owners are probably sealing the deck today.
