The island of Iwo Jima provides a hell of a bike ride. I can't even imagine what it was like trying to fight on that island. Claiming Mt. Suribachi had to be nearly as hard to claim as the beaches of Normandy. I drank a beer on top in honor of those who died. It may seem ludicrous but if you've ever met an American Marine, you'd know a beer would be a perfect tribute.
Anyway, I went there for a couple of days to maintain our jets while the pilots work on some qualifications. It was rough. I worked 28 out of 52 hours and slept maybe 12 total. I had a good time though. Got some sand, a patch and nice sunburn. The farmer's tan is back...

I promise I'll be doing good in Germany, and I don't know when I can come back in Tokyo for a vacation or something, though you're my good friend in Japan. I hope we can meet again sometime in future.
