My fairly new PS3 died Friday Night. I had bought it back in May. Was using it more for Blu-Ray playback than gaming. I did have it in an entertainment center but had a fan circulating air in the unit.
I had picked up a slew of games for me and the Rugrat to play this weekend. I had gotten Sonic Unleashed, Uncharted, Bioshock, Batman and Little big Planet GOTY. Game Fly sent me Infamous and transformers. We were going to game all weekend since we were going to be stuck in from the rain.
I turned on the PS3 and saw the red screen saying that I had a fatal error and need to call customer support.
i got into the safe mode of the systerm and tried to recover the file structure, the database and last resort reformat the harddrive. None of those worked. I got in touch with Sony Customer service gave all my information and they walked me through the safe mode procedure and it still didnt work. Since it is still under warranty they are sending me an prepaid ups box so as soon as I get it Im sending it back.
They do have a 5 day turn around time but I think I'm getting a refurbished unit back. Hopefully it might be a PS3 slim but that is wishfull thinking.
it sucks lil poppa was a bit disapointed that he couldn't play his sonic game but he did get to watch the cartoons off of Netflix.
I want to hit Atlantic City. I need to get my live poker fix in. Since I work for a school I get election day off. I want to take the Monday before off and have a 4 day weekend. Take the greyhound monday morning to showbot and see if I can get there for their monday morning tourny. Its a 40+10 tourney. I can play the morning and Evening on for the same cost as the AM at the Borgata. /sigh
