So...I saw Iron Maiden last night and have felt so spiritually content since that I can't translate the feeling into words. I've been wanting to see them for the last 15 years, seriously!
Maiden was one of those bands that I followed religiously throughout Junior High and High School. I collected limited edition records, shirts, and posters from the band. During my Senior year in High School, I had five Maiden posters up in my room at one time. After High School, my tastes changed and I moved on for some time. Then, I found out they were touring this summer and found a buddy in his thirties who wanted to go.
All this excitement over Maiden made me realize how great this year has been for concert-going. I've seen Tori Amos, The Reverend Horton Heat, Iron Maiden, and I'm still going to see Radiohead, Street Scene, The White Stripes (hopefully), and probably a few others.
It's times like these that make me so thankful to be alive.
