I've been thinking a great deal about life/death, my career, and my life's purpose lately. I feel some heavy downward pressure at times.

Last night, as I listened to "Tundra/Desert" by Modest Mouse; I found the solution to each of my philosophical ponderings and put the questions to rest with one simple thought...

"Jesus Christ, this indie-disco beat makes me wanna stand up and say 'God Damn'! Stand back, this Irish punter's about to get loose." eeek

BIH, I"m worried about you! (You know how I hate exclamation points in writing, so you know I mean it, too.) I thought I warned you about the Modest Mouse. You gotta meter that shit out. You're still on 'talkin shit about a pretty sunset.' When you finish the whole album you can move on to The Lonesome crowded West, but not before. The problem is this, the funky disco beat obscures the lyric:

"every planned occupation,
sure fire disapointment up ahead,
till they treat you like desert,
see mirages of friendship, face turns red,
here's the soon to be anchor,
building bridges to nothing,
you'll get nowhere."

So you see, your solution is wrapped up in your ploblem once again and there is the fundamental contradiction that is MM. Isaak Brock is Schitzoid, and therefore his view of the world is clear. He juxtaposes lyric and rythm, encapsulating your high and low, or in your case problem and solution. It is pure evil, intended to be studied and handled carefully.

ps I'm trying to drink away the part of the day that I cannot sleep away.
