Well... I talked to the Unempolyment office yesterday...and guess what ,they were SHOCKED when i told them why I dont work at Hot Topic anymore. They asked me a bunch of questions then they gave me some sound advice. FIGHT for unemployment... I think it would be GREAT if they have to PAY me to NOT work for them.... LOL! Talk about sweet satisfaction. I was going to tender my resignation to avoid being terminated... I dint really want that on my work history... HOWEVER, the fact that I will recieve UNEMPLOYMENT sort of says I was wrongfully terminated. SO... they can fire my ass! Yup, I almost helped them by turning my in letter of resignation... boy am I glad I didnt do that!
Unfortunately, they also gave me a bit of bad news... turns out Hot Topic will probably have to dissapoint and disillusion somebody else as well as me. See... I am not the only one who committed the acts for which I am being discharged. Hot Topic will HAVE to come down on EVERYONE as hard as they came down on me or they havent been consistent with their Progressive Diciplinary Action. Hot Topic is a business, I never had a misconceptions about that but... now I know just how important that almighty dollar is to them... they will have to pay me UNEMPLOMENT if they do not enforce their disciplinary guidlines uniformly throughout the store and the company... they didn't...And I KNOW that they will see the $$ as much more important than any ONE person. I feel for the others who will feel like I do and have to go through what I have been through over the last 2 weeks.... I KNOW what kind of machine I was working for now... empathy and teamwork MY ASS!!
