So here's a surprise. Wait for it....
This is not a blog about derby
I actually started two new paintings. Not sure how I found the time, it just kind of happened. I had a quiet sunday, I got all domestic, I cleaned, I decided to save some plants that someone who used to live in the little triplex I live in left...they're a little sad. I'm enough of a non plant person to where it took some facebook posting and searches to figure out what they were (aside from the aloe plant).
I also have my first basil plant from back in january (amazingly it's still alive, but suddenly started to take a turn for the worse, so I replanted it and I think I may have been over-watering it) I have another basil plant, a mint plant, a rosemary plant, a oregano plant and a terragon plant as well as an orchid i'm trying to not kill.
yeah, don't ask, i suddenly got all domestic and garden-y and want to grow my own plants, and i might even start talking to them (or begging them to stay alive). For the record I have historically been a plant killer, if no one could kill a plant, I could. So I'm not sure what's gotten into me, but I am trying to grow plants (yes the legal kind even). My inner Colorado Hippie must me fighting to get out
Anyway I decided at midnight-ish to start 2 new paintings, just finished my backgrounds. This may sound odd, but sometimes I paint a background and I think the colors are so pretty I want to leave them.
This is why I love Rothko. His work is so calming. I look at it and I just feel absorbed and relaxed. Weird, huh?
So here they are ( I think they're pretty anyway):
Once I complete them, I'll post em
Oooo and I will update on operation "Save the sick succulents" as well...

good luck with the herb garden - - we've had pretty good luck with herbs outdoors [they can stand their own vs. the weeds], the other indoor plants have been fortunate to survive as long as they have.
GL with the plants - my roommate has veggies growing in the back - I'm afraid to eat them tho - god only knows what's been rooting through the dirt back there and using it for a toilet. Guess I will tho - sigh.
*hugs!*
