i am a terrible blogger sorry life has been hectic the past few weeks. so update on the new job, i work for fascist pigs. they offered me a "contract to hire" job, note not temp to hire. fortunately i read the contract and asked questions first, unlike the other poor bastards they got to do the same. what this means is for the time being i am working at 47% less than i am accustomed to (and i was working for less than i should have been before). they also tried to tell me i had to work overtime but weren't planning on paying me overtime. when the cfo asked if i had a problem with this, i said yes and pointed out that even though i am an "independent contractor" they were doing a lot of things that would cause the EDD (California's board of labor) to consider me an employee, and because they were asking me to work overtime up front, they should be paying me overtime. he agreed to make an exception for me because a) he had a long term plan for me in the company and b) he knew how much less i was making compared to what i was making before. lucky fuckin me huh? what about all the other poor schmucks they were raping on pay and overtime?
so i am now working harder than i ever have in an administrative position at amost half the pay. i figure it will be good experience in the manufacturing field. so i decide to take the employee handbook home one nighthey have . not only do they not have a retirement plan, dental, vision or any of the common benefits, but after one year you earn the right to take a whole five days off with NO PAY that's right folks, no sick days, no holiday (unless you're on salary) and no fucking vacation. after four years you get ten days off with no pay!!!! all this from a company who at hire said "we want lifers. we want employees who want a lifelong career with us, not just a job" Seriously????!!!!!! Are you people on crack? Do you think you live in China?!!!! what fucking incentive are you giving me to want to stay with your company? I'm really fucking good at what i do. I know my value as an employee, and your benefits package and blatant disregard for human resources laws say "WE DON'T GIVE A FUCK ABOUT OUR EMPLOYEES, THEIR WELL-BEING, HAPPINESS OR FUTURE". now i get that in this economy l aot of companies are struggling and cutting benefits because they are suffering huge losses. This company was up almost 20% in the first quarter, hit record daily, monthly and quarterly sales for its entire 15 year history, the owners just bought matching bentleys (its their business what they do with their earnings, but when you are underpaying everyone that works for you and aren't even willing to pay them vacation, tell them they have to use unpaid vacation for dr appointments and sick days, or even pay them for holidays like new years or christmas, do you really think people don't notice that? do you think it won't be a source of contention?

okay second issue, i sprained my ankle t
end of february. i went to see the reverend horton heat and danced on that ankle, i then went to a doctor
, who acted like it was no big deal, a minor sprain, took no x-rays and wrapped my ankle told me to keep it iced and elevated and it should be better in 4 weeks. 4 weeks later i went to a local fair and walked on it, the next day i was swollen like a softball. i rebandaged it and went out to a show a few weeks later, fell down at said show and totally blew my ankle out. rewrapped it and then a few days later came home and my ankle was black and blue. figured it was time to go back to the doctor. last wednesday i had xrays taken and got a sexy franken boot that i only take off for bed and shower time. on friday i had to go in for an mri and today went to see the doctor again, turns out i ruptured a ligament and have to have surgery on thursday. my work is irritated that i will have to be out 3-4 days, but they're trying to be nice about it. oh did i mention they're being sued by the woman whose place i took, she is claiming they fired her for being pregnant?

i'm not usually like this, i'm trying to stay positive. and am really excited for the summer, but i have those two things and stupid boy problems to top it all off (pretty sure that may be coming to an end soon too).
so i know i haven't been as involved lately, but i hate when i turn into a negative whiney little bitch. i piss myself off and want to smack myself in the face
the good news?
i do have a job, a sucky one, but i'm no longer unemployed.
i have a couple of good friends out here and have met some other great people through suicide girls and other places. i am hoping to spend more time with some of the good people i've met on here and make the best of things
anyway, i hope you're all well!!!!!!
