So this morning I had a job interview with the State. For those of you that don't know, if you live in NY you want to work for the State. It's one of the best jobs around. You get full benefits, tons of paid vacation time. Unlimited opportunity to get raises and promoted. I'm so excited about it. In order to get a state job, you have to sign up to take a test. If you've been to college you can get more than entry level. But my college is limited, so I took the entry level Grade 6 Clerical test. I took the test for it a little over 2 years ago. I got a 95 on the thing. But right after I took it the State was having some major money problems so they put everyone on a hiring freeze. In fact I took the test right before they started canceling them. But the states money problems are over, for at lest now. And it's a mass rush to get people to fill the empty positions. In the course of 2 years, I heard about maybe 3 openings in the state. One of which my ex got. He got a 100 on his test, fucking smartass... But other than that there has been nothing. Until now. It's great. I hate my job and the pay sucks here. So I'm really looking forward to having a job that pays better.
On another good note I find out today if the bid I put on a house was excepted by the seller. After so many months of looking at houses that sucked, it was great to walk into this house. I knew right away it was the one. I'm stupid like that but yea. I really do love this house. It will be the first really big thing I buy. I mean I have a car but that's only worth $4000. A house is something much more, that last so much longer. The future is looking brighter on all sides.
