So T and I slogged through a 5K this morning and I am pretty darn proud. We stopped to walk twice for a couple minutes each time, so we didn't meet my personal goal of 10-min miles (not by a long shot) but we jogged the thing, so yay us.

It was the race for the cure (breast cancer) and the survivor and "in memory of" photos and stories broke my heart. I personally miss my aunt/godmother/awesome friend, who passed away 8 years ago. (Though "passed away" is really a misnomer for her difficult, difficult death.) On a lighter note, if I ever see another person dressed in head-to-toe pink, it will be too soon. And T and I wanted to smack the cheerleaders that lined stretches of the race.

Followed the race with a nap, shower, and a bloody mary breakfast in front of football at the gang's favorite local haunt. The drinks hit my dehydrated body HARD. Not sure why I thought race-to-Rustic was a good idea.

One of the fabulous random punk people sharing our table thought me and T were lovers (or sisters)... "because you two move as one." I said we'd known each other since we were three... and the booth was fucking crowded, so we were sitting on top of each other by necessity. Lyds and I sighed that long ago, when we were roommates, people used to mistake the two of *us* for sisters. Times change. Now that Lyds quit the job to focus on school full-time, I should really make it a point to hang with the girl more.

All in all, a good day, and not a bad weekend at that. Striving to pull myself out of the blue period that's seized me the last couple of weeks... my friends keep fleeing town (another g'bye party on Wed) and I am losing myself too much in work, the bottle, and greasy food, not necessarily in that order... I bought CHASING AMY this weekend, a new pair of jeans, and ran up the tab at Victoria's secret, so that's more stuff to keep me happy.

Off to dollar store, laundry, and reading, reading, reading...
