See GRINDHOUSE. I quite liked it. And this is having read the script, so I got no surprises. (If you thought DEATH PROOF dragged, you shoulda read the 120 page version.) I am in fact quite surprised the film did so poorly this weekend. I guess a 3-hour R-rated throwback can only do so much business.
Another huge highlight of the weekend was the Briggs/Tiger Army/Bad Religion show Friday night. I was there for the Tiger Army and they totally delivered, but I was pleased to love the Briggs as well, and enjoyed the Bad Religion.
Watching America's Next Top Model reruns on MTV... I only recently got into this show as more than a causal viewer, because 1) I'm not terribly into fashion and 2) I really, really didn't need another reality show addiction. Anyway, it's a couple seasons ago (the one with Kim the lesbian; I don't remember who wins... maybe Lisa?) and the girls just did a 40s pinup shoot. This marks the only time, really, I have enjoyed the photo shoots on ANTM or found any of the girls remotely attractive. Lesson: I should quit watching ANTM and simply take in more SG sets.
Went to NYC last week for a girls weekend and to see my bro and his ladyfriend. Highlights included TALK RADIO with Liev Schriber and Stephanie March (channeling Sarah Paulson), downing a few with my brother, walking the Brooklyn Bridge with Dad & bro (reward: Grimaldi's Pizza), and shopping (I was a Century 21 virgin until this trip! I got shoes, a jacket, a shirt, and a wallet).
This week at work will suck. Big boss is in town and my lovely coworker (the only other executive left standing after all the firings/quittings) is out of the office. I just need to brace myself and get through it. And remember that workouts and sleep are better for stress than drinking and salty foods. Sigh.
