Lately, I’ve been spending most of my free time working on the first draft of my writing sample for graduate school. It’s meant a lot of long hours in the library reading through articles and books - but honestly, I’m enjoying it. I’m also still prepping for a long-distance backpacking trip planned for late August or early September. The group is now leaning toward Montana instead of somewhere closer to home, which would definitely make for an unforgettable route.
Outside of that, I’ve been diving into some research just for fun. You ever watch a true crime documentary, and something about it just sticks with you? For me, that’s the case of Amy Mihaljevic. She was abducted from Bay Village, Ohio, and 104 days later, her body was found 54 miles away. I wouldn’t call myself a crime sleuth, but something about this case has me digging a little deeper.
Anyway- today’s book delivery kicks off the next phase of my research (with the exception of Stephen King’s new release, which is purely guilty pleasure). Wishing you all a fantastic summer—or stay warm if you’re somewhere experiencing cold.
