I know what you mean about not being able to get good rest when your spouse is away. I was like that when my wife started working graveyard shifts. It sucked big time. I got a body pillow to help me deal, since I was used to sleeping in "spoon" position with her (with me in the back and her in the front). The pillow didn't help much, but it was slightly better than nothing at all.
The funny thing is, after a year of her being on graveyard shift, I got accustomed to it and, when she would have nights off and we would sleep in bed together, I missed having the bed to myself!
