I really like my new job, well any thing's better than my last, there's just loads of variety and masses of opportunities to go in to different areas of my local government. I started in October as an Admin Assistant and already I am assisting a surveyor carry out surveys on council properties, i have single-handedly audited the CCTV cameras in preparation for a control centre move, attended an asbestos awareness course with qualification and I also attend staff reps meetings - a monthly meeting with staff from each department who meet to discuss and take action on concerns/issues of the wider work force.
So far I really do love it, this post is a lot of waffle... I know.
I always said I would hate to get stuck in a 9-to-5 job, but now I'm here not only am I making the most of it but I find it quite rewarding at the moment and give the sad fact that we ALL have to work (except, and) I know where I'd rather be. I'd rather not work but working lets me afford to....

I have had minor moments recently where I've openly questioned my enjoyment. I was recently involved in an e-mail scandal that was blown way out of proportion - all because one common English, non vulgar, word was used in a quote from the big bad boss!
