I am and have always been somewhat reserved, not to the point that I'm anti-social just that when it comes to social interaction with others, specifically those whom I've never met before I'm quieter than usual and often less confident about things that I'm extremely passionate about normally. It's problem and something i need to tackle immediately, it is a terrible affliction for a photographer of naked women, and one that could derail my hopes and dreams, costing me a lot of money along the way.

I'm confident it will fade as i do more and more shoots, I've managed to hold it at bay for the whole two hours of my first shoot, so I'm sure I'm on my way to a full recovery. I just don't understand where it comes from or even why.

That doesnt mean i don't look forward to shoot, oh no, i love it. Sure I'm probably meeting someone I've not worked with before but honestly all i think about in the hours that run up to such a shoot are ideas, poses, the way that awesome coffee table can be incorporated in to a shot or how can use that shower... Ideas come and go even after the knock on the door and as the model changes.

Etiquette is obviously a big part of making both the model and i at ease and allow for a more comfortable shoot. Sure she is getting naked, but it's not for me, it's for the camera and i feel it's important to have that line established and firmly in both our minds. As far as the lens goes, for the shoot duration, it's her lover, the eyes of the walls when she's alone. It's got to be a completely intimate experience and i just have to fade away and become part of the environment. Just one of the reasons i prefer to shoot models who can just go and pose, following only minimal direction when a particular shot is wanted.
