got tattooed yesterday... we started shading the soft underbelly of my arm. i sat for about four hours and then pussed out. hmm. never done that before.

this morning i woke up and puked; my arm really hurts. it makes me whimper a little so i hopped in the car to go to the pharmacy and grab some ibuprofen.

on the freeway i came around this bend in semi-heavy traffic in time to see a panicked lady duck trying to lead her ducklings safely through traffic. she made it to the shoulder just as the suv in front of me ran over her line of babies, crushing three of them. the fourth got sucked up in the wind from the vehicle and was tossed forcibly into the ditch some twenty odd feet down the road.

i can't get this picture of that duck out of my head... she got to the shoulder and turned around and there were no babies there for her...

i can't shake a mental image of her standing next to the freeway staring at it, waiting for her babies...

for days...

or maybe she wanders back into traffic to find them.

i have to go back to bed.

it's going to be a bad day.
