I used to enjoy live shows a few years ago way more than I do now. If I go to one, it's usually something small, local and relatively tame. I just don't have the energy and patience for drunk people anymore (probably because nowadays I rarely get even tipsy, nevertheless drunk).
And I agree that different taste in music can be a deal breaker in certain cases, especially when you're younger. Mostly because in certain music requires a certain lifestyle; you don't like going to same places/shows, you don't enjoy the same crowd of people, you don't dress the same - all those little things that matter when you're a kid. Later in life it becomes easier to tolerate, but it can definitely cause trouble. Sorry if I'm rambling, you just got me thinking.
