holy poop, i bought records for the first time in a long time. It felt good, though dropping Hamiltons probably isn't the best idea for my bank account. Financial status be damned, I had to buy some 12 inch vinyl!
So, you're wondering what i picked up? well, let me rummage through the pile:

Well, like the bad DJ I am, i can't quite recall what all I got, but the highlights are these two:

Ferry Corsten "Fire"
VHS or Beta "Solid Gold"

Pretty decent, i also end up getting some other records that went well with Solid Gold. For some reason I've been on this little French-guitar-driven-house-vibe (think Daft Punk's "Digital Love").

I've always kind of toyed with the idea of becoming a DJ. Like in clubs and the like. It would be cool to kind of be your own boss (as much as you can be your boss when you have to appeal to mass audiences) and to be able to buy records and write it off on your taxes. I still scare myself by thinking that what I'm in to, no one else likes. Though I have DJed at parties and only gotten a few bad reviews (mainly by people who were offended by the fact that I didn't have any country/ wanted to hear some lame-ass crunk music). I want to get the party rocking in my own way, but it seems like I have to give them a heads up or something because otherwise they think I'm going to drop "hiphop" (read: commercialized hip hop).
I try and get the crowd on my side by playing older or popular dance tunes, or remixes (Nirvana's Lithium (Dirty Funker mix) NEVER FAILS!!!!!). Its still a bit of work, and I end up second guessing just about every record. Though the fact that I even bring vinyl is enough to get about half the crowd's respect. I love how DJing on decks is still like a magic trick to people, especially when you play a great remix or classic tune they haven't even realized they wanted to hear.

Damn, i need to get a party together to rock some knowledge into these poor kids.

The tattoo is on the outside of my left calf. It was done by an apprentice at Vicious Ink in Troy, MI. That apprentice has since decided that tattooing is not what he wants to do.

And "hi" back to ya!
