I came across this thread in the SG hopefuls section. While its now closed, i think the guy who posted brought up a reasonable point. I will say that I do disagree with him though.

First off, its always worth while to have someone within the group (and he is a member so he's part of the group) stand up and say, "is this as good as it can be?"
I would hope that even some of the SG fans and staffers out there would say, "no". And that they would have ideas about how to improve the site/community.

I also think that this guy is realizing something that SG is realizing in general. As so many girls come on and do sets, they're going to do sets that 'overlap' thematically. And with more and more people clamoring to see certain themes or sets, sometimes they go with 'what works' (seriously, soapy chicks are teh hott)

You're also getting to the point where more "average" people (men and women) are coming on to the site. Consider it the downside of diversity- having to appeal to a wide audience. Hell, it is imminently possible that a few republicans have snuck their way on to the site (and not just to try and shut it down).

One of the arguments he brings up is the fact that some of these girls don't seem all that interested in participating in the rest of the community. And that should be part and parcel of becoming an SG. I know you can't force people to be sociable, but as a recognized "face" of SG, you should step up and spill a little bit of information once in a while. It doesn't have to be a revalation, it doesn't have to be in depth, just throw something on there so that people know you're a real human and not just an opportunity machine.

Finally, it all comes down to the few couple of staffers (or one person, i don't know) who actually decide what sets get accepted and which sets don't. You may like a wider variety that allows for a lower technical quality, and the staff is not going to bend on certain demands. Or quite simply, there are only a couple of good pictures in a set that is, overall, lackluster. Or, they don't take you because you suck and somehow SG just knows it (probably because SG talks to SC: Santa Claus).

Anyway, just my .02 cents on the matter, simply because the thread is locked.
(that's right, i feel i only contributed 2 one hundredths of a cent)

And to end on a happy note (for WoW losers like me): Check out The Illegal Danish video(GoogleVideo)
