I went to a lecture put on by UVic's biomedical department on monday. It was at a pub and had free food so that was a great start. The room it was in was set up with tables and chairs that were all full of people who have given up on working (the older), so I jammed in with a student I had come in...

I'm glad you liked it! The narrator was my ex-boyfriend- he used voice distortion stuff on it. He filmed and edited the whole thing. I can't tell you in detail because I know nothing about editing film, but I do know making it look old with the flecks and stuff only took him like 2 minutes.... the whole editing process actually took like a day or two...

Quote of the moment, is from James May's book May on Motors: "Some old boy may be taking an inordinately long time to negotiate a mini roundabout, but for all we know he may once have had the steady hand and razor-sharp reactions necessary to plant a bouncing bomb on the face of the Eider...

I got the feeling that kristen the waitress is thinking of asking me out today. I know it is likely just my mind putting a glance at and away from me and over hearing a 'good luck' from one of her co-workers, in the best possible light, but you never know. She was friendly and talkative today, I was wondering if I would end up...

- john tucker, 100 girls

If you do things right people won't be sure you've done anything at all. I wish I could do some more things right, the shop foreman seems to be mad at me. Fortunatly he is taking it...

As none of you are wondering why I'm posting so 'late' on a week day, I'll tell you.

Car trouble. I hate when something new breaks, something that has been fixed. I like being able to say to myself, ok this bit is going to be fine for years to come. So a one dollar bolt has failed me again and I get to sit...

But Margaret Clitherow's death may have had a yet greater effect on Bristish history. Her terrible end certainly caused a sensation at the time. Whilst Catholics Feted her, many in the city could not believe how willingly she had gone to her death. Her father, Henry May, Lord Mayor of York, actually accused her of effectively commiting suicide and abandoning her family. But there was...

"the risk that the market will collapses in a smoldering ruin and take your savings with it."- summer 2008

During the peninsula war the french would send partly coded messages worded so the plain language parts would have a different message than the coded bits.

This sprang into mind when I was reading the summer 2008 'money sense'.
