Quote of the moment: After throwing a bit of wood that was in the way in the back of the cube van in the front passengar seat
Me: Your co driver might be a bit board today dave.
Dave: (nothing)
Me: Don't be surprised if he turns out a bit knoty.
Dave: laughts
I burned a hole in my: pants, long john bottoms and boxers, at work. I guess it's a good thing didn't get the bottom of the pocket on that side too. To the sewing machine!
I broke my trophy from the five dollar boat race yesterday. I went to pick it up to put a spare car stereo under it and one side broke, as the mast was broken already I decided it was time for it to go. It was just blocks of wood, styrofoam a paper sail and a laundry powder scoop, but it was also the trophy for the only time I've suceeded in full public view. And don't say graduation counts, you don't graduate on the last day of school, out in the sun with everyone's parents their. You graduate alone in some exam room when unknown to you your answer to question number # puts you that tiny fraction over passing. I thougth plastic was susposed to last for hundreds of years? As it's not really the value inherint to the the thing that matters any way, just look at the 27 grams of third hand recast bronze that makes up The Victoria Cross
I saw this cool puzzle box on this weeks 'Chuck' so for the last two days I've been thinking of how to build one, get the puzzle lock to work. The one on chuck had 16 number on the top. I figured ( I think) how to make it lock on 7 and have 8 total with the pattern completed by one fixed and lower number. At first I thought having it lock downward but then the keys wouldn't stay in place because they couldn't lock against each other and still move. So now I'm going with a round dove tail knob on the bottom riding in dovetail groves to hold the blocks with spring loaded pins along the edges to lock and unlock a big heavy top, but hopefully cool enought to make you forget that. An it's not like I'm a locksmith or a watch maker or something.
It does bring up the question who is it for...
