So a journal update
Condo
I looked a two places one of which I didn't like since it was right over the entrance to the building. The ceiling also had all sorts of low bits. For example the front door seamed to be only about 6' or 6'2" tall they in the entrance way there were some sealed in ducts that were low as well. I'm 5"10"ish so it's not a head banging issue for me but it's still odd for a building build in the mid 80's. The other condo was already off the market when I managed to get a tour of it and I rather liked it. It seams to be back on the market now, I guess the offer fell threw. The building it's in is a good one I met an old lady who has been in it since 1984 ( I almost typed 1884, that would be an old lady!!) and she didn't have any complaints about it. Two different places turned up and I'm going to try to take a look at them this week. One of them is lease-hold but it's also 25 and 35K cheaper than the two I talked about above. I could live with $30,000 less of a mortgage.
stuff out of the bathroom reader, it's a cool book series, I just wouldn't pick any of them up used
To cure a toothache: "dissolve a piece of opium, the size of a small pea, in spirits of turpentine. Put in the hollow of the tooth upon cotton. It does not stop the pain at once, but if well applied, and frequently changed, will soon cause it to never trouble again." - Dr. Chase's Recipes (1884)
"Do not give opium to children under the age of one year except on the advice of a physician." - The Practical Home Physician (1892)
No wonder people were some much happier with the town doctor back in the day!
Waitresses
Last friday I went to the pub for lunch to run into jane at her work. my waitress sarah really reminded me of dewees the face and her short hair mostly.
At a different pub last night I ended up with another short haired girl, pierced tongue, 0 gauge ears, tight shirt which wasn't serving her all that well as I swear she had a schedule 40 wire bra. I have no Idea of her name and could really hit on her as I was with my dad and some family friends. At least Alex was paying so I'm guessing her made off with a sweet tip. The cook had some interesting tattoos (she was running out with food from time to time, including my desert as it was busy) she had an inch or so reddish circle on both sides of both wrists. I asked her about it but she said it was a long story, so I gave up on finding out. So be warned for slow lunch days. The only thing I can think of is that she's really christian and wanted simple nail holes, she did have a cross necklace but it was pretty stylized.

Mack-canceling headphones would be a wonderful invention. I can't tell you how handy they would be in, well, just about any situation.
For example: I was working at the pet store the other day, and some tardface wearing bling and Addidas came in. I asked him, like I ask everyone, if I can help him with anything.
He responds: "Well, I'm feeling kinda lonely. Maybe you could help me out with a phone number, or a hug."
"You're lonely? I suggest a hamster." And I walked off.
