Interesting fact (with a cursory relevance to this site): In the 13th century the word 'girl' could apply to youths of either gender. To distinguish between them, females were known as 'gays girls' and males 'knave girls'.
'Milky Way' (as in the chocolate) was original known as the 'Fat 'Emma' Bar'. The Emma Bar being a popular confection of the time.
'7-Up' takes its name from a combination the 7 ounce bottles it originally came in and an abbreviation of the salutary 'Bottoms Up!'.
Thomas Edison's most succesful invention was not a physical object at all, but a word he devised for greeting people on the telephone: 'Hello'.
Contrary to urban myth, Charles Manson never auditioned to be in the Monkees - he was actually in prison at the time.
If only my head was filled with information that was vaguely useful...

I didn't really like Alice In Wonderland when I was a kid. It's a recent like. It's dark and very surreal and I plan to write a screenplay based on it when i'm feeling up to it. Where do you find all of your useless facts by the way? They're interesting x
