I tend to feel rather aggrieved when people describe me as deep, even when its intended as a compliment. What does 'deep' mean exactly? If its supposed to infer a preoccupation with the profound questions of human nature and existence, then I'm afraid its a largely erroneous supposition. I can assure you, my primary obsessions are decidedly baser, and only serve to illustrate how recently our ancestors descended from the trees. I think anything that might be perceived as deepness (in my case) is only really a manifestation of the self-preservation instinct. If those thoughts display a predilection for ontological/existential matters its only really down to personal taste, like whether one prefers big butts or small.
