Hey there SG folk!
Having a chat with R3X tonight we started discussing nuclear, happy families. Besides 2 cases I can mention from real life and the Obamas, I was out. And R3X was the one who mentioned the Obamas.
After mentioning the Huxtables, the Jetsons, Flintstones and so on I remembered a talk I had with my mom a while ago that led to her looking at me like I was a giant slimy bug for a while, then she caught my point.
To me, the Addams Family is the epitome of the perfect nuclear family. Think about it, Gomez still has the hots for Morticia after years of marriage and 2 kids. The kids have an awesome uncle who doesn't mind being silly with them. The grandmother is pretty un-intrusive (hence debunking the nosy mother in law cliche). Pugsley and Wednesday get along remarkably well and are pretty well behaved. Cousin Itt is always around and has some insight for who might need it.
They are loving, accept each other and even the rest of people who might not be exactly their kind of folk.
In the end, I guess that's what families should be about. Nuclear or not.
