SG drink night last night was great. unfortunately, i wasn't able to stay late (damn you work! i rue your name!), but it was great to meet everyone, even if i have an awful memory and don't remember all your names. perhaps next time we should pick a slightly quieter/more mobile/better service place. i hate long-table conversations. i suggest pool for our next get together, if there is to be one.

mental note: coke, pepperoni pizza, and stimulating conversation before bed means no good sleep for medea... so sleepy today.

mental note 2: it's always best to leave him wanting more, even if he is a lying conniving jerk.

i have to go through a stack of resumes today and hire someone next week to work for me. i hate going through resumes. i hate hiring people. i wish i could just say 'ok, you get the job' and that's all i would have to do. stupid procedures.

thing that made me smile this morning: while waiting for the bus, one of our neighbourhood merlins started his characteristic chattering and landed on top of a spruce tree. the robin within 50 feet of his perch was not so happy and began squawking his head off as opposed to just flying away. i'm such a bird geek.
