bannock is a flat, usually unleavened bread made of oatmeal or barley flour. it's a specialty sort of food here, made best by native canadians. i enjoy it alone, or with jam and butter. yum.
the weekend went quickly. i decided at 8am Saturday morning to go home and visit my mom, dad, and baba. haven't seen them since xmas, so thought it was high time for a visit. picked up a tonne of stuff from my late grandma for me that was stored at my parents' place including her sewing machine, and some kitchen things. it's still weird to not be able to call her up and say 'thanks gramma'. i'm sure that using the sewing machine will be odd as well since she has it labelled in her handwriting, there's notes in the margins of the instruction book. i can imagine her writing things down in the book, recording her inseam in her tilted handwriting. but then i see that she has my uncle's inseam written beside hers and the bitterness and anger works it way into my throat again and i set the book down and walk away.
and now, since i've been neglecting it, some questions for you:
1) how do you fight the bitterness demon?
2) how does the phrase "toenails like fritos" make you feel?
3) car, truck, or moped?
4) do you have an answering machine/service? is your message boring or original?
5) last song you listened to?
my answers:
1) i tried my long sword, and my flail, but neither worked. right now, i'm trying the 'denial' method as it would seem that arms do not kill the demon, only make it angrier.
2) dirty. so very dirty.
3) moped, if this city weren't so disrespectful of people driving less than an SUV
4) yes, and it's boring.

happy monday all.
