Home, relaxed, a bottle of Jamesons' Cloudy Apple, and the dog snoring on the chair next to me!

Outstanding!

Your right mate, it's the little things that make it right. Which reminds me, your feline friend in your photographs..... seems to be the important little thing also. All very good and cool!

24 days straight of 12 hour shifts, it's good to be back on the tools, but I miss the classroom like my left arm.

Should be able to have some rest before long.

Hope all is well in SG land.

Hope you are rolling in money at least. Looking forward to hearing how you are making out.

I'll be at the Laguna MotoGP round again next week and will post an update after.

Best wishes.

Aye, the money rolls in, the money rolls out! Collected a roo the other night on the way home after a 13 hour shift, mental note, 980km runs after work makes one a bit slow on the uptake smile, totalled the car, and old and much loved ford, but walked away unscathed.

Had billy, (fire pot), tea, sugar and a few snacks and a sleeping bag, so, out of phone range in a freezing, star jeweled desert night (phone was flat in any case), the ghost of an unlucky roo and I swapped stories and shared a billy of tea.

About 6 hours later a passing truckie picked me and my 'bongos' up, and on I went.

Life is friggin brilliant!! smilebiggrin

Ps 980 km = about 600miles.
Car is roadside 'art'!! whatever

Wednesday - sitting in the cold sun on the out rigger of my crane, doing a crossword waiting for the next lift, when it occured to me that it was a VERY special day!

The Transit of Venus! Goddess of love!

So with true scientific endevour, started scouring the old machine for suitable materials to conduct the essential idiots viewing.

My rigger, god bless him,...

Bailed out of teaching for a while, back in industry to top up the coin. Not as good as the rigs, but better than state wages.

Hope all in SG land are well and happy!

Warm balmy night, family out, block of dark chocolate, bottle of irish whiskey, reasonable telescope, clear night, bright moon.

Hungry mosquitos, shit loads of hungry mosquitoes.

Coincidence?

I think not! smile

Yikes, I live in dread of a repair bill like that. Hope that drink tasted good.

Any other news?

Also, I have a Lotto ticket for tonight. If it hits you get 25%.

Still working in the disability unit - until end of term, been really good - learning to teach again really, big change from senior academic or behaviourally dydsfunctional students. (Haven't been told to 'get fucked' in four weeks smile )

Did a small mine shutdown (4 days) last week - very long hours but still a great change! All good, just a bit of pressure, so life is good.

Last week was a change of scenery! From teaching the top senior Ag and Science students - to the Special Ed unit!

It was the bestestest - est week ever, although I'm damned exhausted! Doing it again next week, bugger running off to the mines or rigs to earn some real money! - these intellectually disabled kids are the best fun I've had in ages!...
