Well the gig on wednesday went really well despite the usual promoter cock ups. No bass amp on arrival, which isn't too bad for the crowd, with a decent DI box etc the sound isn't bad. However, with poor monitors it meant I couldn't actually hear myself on stage. During I think, Three Score and Ten I noticed I had my (beautiful when used correctly) BF-3 AKA boss Flanger (lol, flange) and the EHX Holy Grail on reverse reverb (nice geek speak, loser - Ed) on. Anyway, I think at various points I may have failed to notice certain effects and made us sound like Hawkwind, not such a bad thing. Think I pulled it off coz when I noticed the LEDs infront of me I tried to work the mistakes into the songs, so it didn't sound mistaken. We were still really well recieved and everyone had a great time at the show etc, but it pissed me off no end.

Luckily for us most of them are comin to the next show so they'll get a real performance. I just hope nobody goes, 'Dude, where are all those sweeping space rock summer of lovin mental sounds'.

Saw Bjork using these things at Glasto this year. Was pretty much the highlight of the last 12 months. Both Bjork's set which sent me a little bit into the outer regions of the Cygnus Arm and the use of the coolest GUIs by the three synth players she had with her.





I'm in the process of coercing my project supervisor to allow me to try and get one of these working in the department. We have a whole team working on human interactive systems and VR, in fact I do that class, wouldn't that just be the best GUI for just about anything! Plus, the software support for the object detection on the table is freeware!

I'm thinking a coffee table linked to iTunes or just as it is in the video, an analog modelled synth. With coasters as controllers!
