Woot woot woot...

Greg (drummer in Best Toys and The War Room) and I did a set last night at Transmission as a duet. Myself on the old laptop and keys and him doing all the live drums. We had never rehearsed a thing together and it was billed as progressive electro... and it was! There were some moments where I thought the commuication, and therefore the improv lynchpin, was breaking down and things were going all wrong. Luckily these moments only ever lasted 1 or 2 bars and made us giggle more than anything, we had such an amazing laugh. He has a knack of playing exactly what I'm expecting and visa vera, he says. So much so that we played non-stop for 30mins and still were asked to play more! I had a mic, but in the heat of the set only used it thrice.

1. "Hello, we ARE The Bee Shocked".

2. "This one is called 'The Bipolar.... Express'".

3. "Thanks guys thats real kind".

All the guys with beards in the room felt the need to tell me it was a great experiment and beautifully progressive, we got a real warm reception, it was lovely. Despite how off the wall it could have been what we were playing was fairly radio 1 friendly, just an odd set up. Nice, real nice.

The Bipolar Express comes from a mate who heard, when we were talking bout a sociopathic friend, bi Polar (bear) not bipolar (the condition), imagine that, lol. We had to sneek it in for comedy value. Greg had a song intro to:

"Are you still singing songs about those cough drops you bought in Switzerland"... genius.

Oh... The Bee Shocked coz, I make music under the name Bee Stealers and Gregs superstar DJ name is G-Shock. Sorted.

Hmmmmm, maybe you're right, maybe I shouldn't be so harsh. I think I've seen snippets of the 'opera' you refer to and it was absolute gash. Also, I have a serious problem with him and his tendencies towards underage girls. I believe he's in court very soon? x
