I hate the dating game. You meet someone and have a giggle/laugh/riotous time, then what?. How do you take it from there, I have problems because I'm so used to being in a long term relationship I just want to cut the crap and bet on with being a couple. I'm a pretty good judge of character and I'm fairly picky, so I don't bother chasing people I wouldn't want anything less than a decent relationship with. But I think in being aware of my own attitude makes me back off a bit too much...

Plus I think I might of pissed off one of my bestest mates.

Could I get some advise on this please! Follows that:

I'm invited to a party by some mates and ask if I can take my band brothers along too, this is all good. We arrive fashionably late and get into the party mood. I get chatting to a girl, whom I've sorta fancied for ages, I've just been in a loving relationship so it never becomes anything more than a 'aww... she's a pretty girl'. Introduce her to Rich and Alex and get distracted by a few friends. Rich plays the smooth silky pro that he is and proceeds to 'lay the moves (LOL)'.

Now the dilemma is. She got in touch with me and said she wanted to go for drinks. Rich, in the mean time, still chases online with facebook wall posts etc. I meet her and we have a great time and hope to again.

Was I in the wrong? I get the feeling that Rich thinks I went behind his back on a girl he was interested in. Should said girls be off limits? What's the rule here?
