The Night of Ambushes! Well I had one crazy interesting close to my week. Friday nights I usually chill with a beer and cigar and just be a happy fella by myself. Which I did do. Had both one awesome cigar (Gurkha toro) and an awesome brew by Boulevard called Sixth Glass, a Belgian Quadrupel.
So I was reading up on some Tao, as I'm starting to kinda get back into studying up on it again, sitting back in my little love seat smoking lounge area enjoying the smoke and chilled brew. When my daughter comes home with her boyfriend amd surprise me with ice cream. So sweet of her. Of course there was a reason to try to sweeten me up as she wanted to see if it was OK for her to take a trip with him to Texas for a week.
"Ummm...nooo! Your 16..." so we discussed a bunch of lifes mysteries for a while before she headed out to the movies with her BF.
Not long after she left a knock on more door, and loudly I might add. Taa daa, my good friend John stopped down with some of his home brew and a cigar as he knows I'm always around on Friday nights. His wife was out with the girls so he had the evening to himself too. So we sat around for a bit and smoked our cigars and drank our beer talking and what not. We decided to watch Batman Begins, he hadn't seen it yet?
This was around 10 or so. Then just as the movie was nearing the ending, another loud knock at my door?
I'm like what the hell is going on tonight, geez?
I open my door, and to my surprise, its John's wife Tracie and two of her friends showing up to say "hi". I'm thinking she may had planned this somehow as one of her friends that was with her I've had a crush on for awhile now. She's super cute, quirky, and artsy, and now in my home!
So as we planned to all watch the end of the movie together, they all took a seat as I got everyone a drink. And as I returned, conveniently her friend, the one I like, sat alone next to my big easy chair while the other three took the couch.
Oh my goodness, can this be happing? I'm thinking...
so I jumped in the chair and asked her to sit with me...and she did!
Holy crap, I so wanted to kiss her right then and there, as I'm pretty sure she knows that I've had a thing for her and now there was some definate electricity happening as we sat and watched the end of the movie together.
It was now like 12:30am or so when she then leaned in and said she was very tired and was gonna go home to go to bed as she had to work in the morning.
So I was like, sure, whatever, its not like I'm making you stay. As she got up, she grabbed me by the hand very strongly and then brushed her other hand across the top of my head and played with my hair. Whoa!
I immediately got up and followed her to the kitchen and bluntly just asked for her number, and she gave it to me like she knew she was gonna anyways. Awesome!
So I let her leave on her own with no dramatics or anything as I"m sure the mood wasn't right with everyone just hanging out watching us and not the movie. So I made quick work of the whole scene and said I'd call ya later this week and she said that she'd like that.
Was I totally ambushed or what? I'm super fuckin stoked that I got her number.
OK, so off to Aikido this morning and then lunch and then Dark Knight! No plans after that just yet, I'll go with the flow and see where the night goes for me...maybe more ambushes?
