Hey guys and dolls. Sorry it's been a bit since I posted a new blog but I've been crazy busy spending time with the family. Many of them don't live in my area so when we're all together for the holidays we do our best to squeeze the most out of every moment.

So anyways, Christmas went well. My first Christmas party was actually very early with "my kids". For that one we all made gifts for each other instead of buying them. Since it was still two weeks before Christmas, I put together a CD compilation of Christmas songs (the first CD was all women singing, the second was all men). Along with that I made a frame and drew an eagle to put inside it. The scanner part of my printer doesn't seem to be working which is a bummer since I was hoping to scan the drawing and post it here. It's been a long time since I took the time to draw anything well but "I still got it" wink

Christmas Eve kicked off the first real party. I'm the second of 8 siblings and for the 2nd year in a row all but one of us managed to get home for Christmas. We as a family have always celebrated on Christmas Eve. Lots of time honored traditions like a huge dinner, a church candlelight service, then we all head back home, get in our PJ's and open up our presents. Even as adults (plus a couple college students and one still in high school) we bring our PJs over to moms house. Stupid, I know... but you don't argue with tradition. A couple years back we switched from buying presents for everybody to getting one and playing an exchange game afterwards. Instead of spending money on each other, we get presents for those that need it. After saving up our change all year we dump it, roll it, count it and use that money to buy things from the World Vision gift catalog. (I've got lots of links to their stuff on my earlier blog)

Christmas Day marked my one year anniversary in my new apartment. Since my three brothers helped me move in a year ago, I had them over to hang out for a good portion of Christmass Day. We borrowed my mom's TV and Wii and just hung out playing that, PS2, watching bowl games, and enjoying a few beverages my "prohibition" sisters would not have appreciated.

I could go on, but I have this sneaking suspicion none of this interests all of you. After all, it's my family not yours. Saturday we had our 9th annual Christmas breakfast at my cousin's house. It's half a group of my cousins and half some close family friends. Had an extended family reunion on Sunday. That was small... only 43 people. We pulled together 103 on the 4th of July and even that isn't everybody. Saw one of my younger cousins and her drama group perform both Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon. Got together with some cousins Wed PM to play Settlers of Catan. Interesting game. Also managed to log over 75 hours of work this week.

Hope everyone had as great of a Christmas and New Years as I did. Hugs and Kisses to you all.
