So I spent the weekend up having a great time in the Adirondacks. Absolutely loved it. I almost managed to get through the entire time without any snow, which would have been a miracle this time of year, but it started coming down on Saturday for a bit. Not too much though and by the time I was heading back to real life the roads were fine.

Anyways, while I was there, freezing my tail off, I started thinking about beauty and what beauty really is. I started thinking about real life friends I know and wondering what they would be like if they were suicide girls. I realized that, for the most part they would all fall into three types.

Some would be the type of girl who has millions of fans and whose every set would make it right to front page. Every time they wrote a blog they would get pages and pages of responses and all the guys (and girl) members would be tripping over themselves trying to impress.

Then there would be others who would make it pink, but only have one or two sets that they actually get paid for. Time and time again They would pour their heart and soul into a set only to see it languish in member's review. They would wonder what it is that those "popular" girls have that they don't. They would wonder what it is they are doing wrong. Some of them would do this only in their head while others would openly rage against the "politics" of the site.

Then there are other friends of mine that I think would most likely never become pink. Some of them have the physical beauty to pull it off, but it seems like they never have the right luck. Others, I find beautiful in other ways and their phyical appearance would limit them. I can picture them outwardly remaining positive while inwardly their despair only grows.

Perhaps some of these categories might fit some of you reading this. Perhaps it doesn't even fit the people I am thinking of and I am lost in my own delusion. Anyways, I began wondering which group, which individuals I would consider most beautiful and I realized I had set the wrong parameters. For everyone I know, a person's physical appearance plays only a small part, and not even close to the most important part, of what I would call beauty.

For example, this is beauty:

When you first see Susan, you see an ugly old biddy. But then the music starts and she opens her voice... wow. That is beauty.

The thing is, it took 47 years for that beauty to shine forth. It was always there, buried inside her until the right moment, the right oppoirtunity brought it forth.

Each person I've seen here, you are beautiful. The creativity, the talent, the heart, the passion I have seen come out from different people here... it just blows me away. Even if I were to never see another photo set, it would still be worth the annual membership to have the priveledge of sharing in a small part of your lives. God has gifted you, each of you with amazing beauty. Some have already tapped into it while others are still looking for the moment, for the way, it will shine. Don't be discouraged. That day will come. And until then remember, you are beautiful just as you are.
