I don't think I'm doing anything super. Taking Bean to her grandmother's for dinner (no cooking, YAY!). Cleaning, probably.

My life is so glamorous.

I'm sure your job is far more stressful than mine.
itburns:
I think that is part of Clarance Clemons's duties.

Funny how revolutions start sometimes.

When I was a kid my sister and I used to eat breakfast in the kitchen every morning before school as my mom rushed around getting ready. She had the radio on in the kitchen, tuned to the late, great New York oldies station WCBS-FM. That's where I heard all those great old records for the first time-Sam Cook, Otis...

Wohoo I didn't know that! How cool, I wonder which show... from where.. ah, if you know let me know. I'm waiting for my mom to get here so we can go and look at paint, I need to decide the color for my walls. My father is here, again, actually working on fixing the wall. Yee fucking ha! But it's still a long way to go with that damn room but at least something is happening now.

I wouldn't mind living in NYC for a while, I think. It would be surreal though. The whole thing with NY and LA is that.. you've seen it so much in tv shows, in movies, in whatever... you know, streets, names, places, and I think I've told you this before but if I'd go there it would feel surreal like I was in a movie.

I think I need a vacation.

I was gonna write something that amounted to a political essay on how September 11th did far more harm in this country than the terrorists who hijacked those 4 planes could have ever forseen.

But I didn't. As I watched the memorials this morning it just didn't seem right. So I'll post that tomorrow.

So what I posted instead is that phone number up...

Ok, so I'm borrowing a journal entry for today. This was an artcile that appeared recently in the NY Times. I love New Orleans. I only went for the first time a few years ago, but I fell in love with it and went back as often as possible. I spent my last few birthdays there. I've made some great friends there, but there's something...

The screen door slams, Marys dress sways/Like a vision she dances across the porch as the radio plays/ Roy Orbisons singing for the lonely/ Hey thats me and I want you only/Dont turn me home again/ I just cant face myself alone again

What a beautiful portrait of the ache of loneliness and the hope of romance-all at the same time. So begins Thunder Road,...

Exact.

My Internet is still dead. Fucking shit, it's really annoying. It may be nerdy, or whatever, but that's the truth. I miss talking to you.

If you haven't heard this yet, it's worth hearing. The Mayor of New Orleans made a desperate call to a local radio station yesterday begging for help.

You can here it here.

When the time comes, once people have had time to mourn and begin to rebuild down in the great city of New Orleans, I'll talk about the incredible rage I'm feeling about the politics that I believe made this disaster as bad as it is. For now, however, my heart and prayers go out to those who are dealing with this.

New Orleans adapts to...

I want every day to be Bunny day. Is that possible?

I hope I get out of work early tonight so that me, Potsy and Ralph Malph can go down to Arnolds for some egg creams. That would be outta sight.

Sit on it everybody!

Things are solidly ok. Much of the drama has subsided, but there's still the occasional fire to put out.
I'm just gearing up for work. August is a down monthe for trials, so we're getting ready for the fall.
You?

Mine, too. frown
