My roomate Kathy is a dancer and she does private parties on the weekends. This past Thursday was her birthday and we were out at this great Middle Eastern restaurant on Avenue B. She had about 30 friends there. We had a belly dancer at our table for about a half hour (belly dancers get a little old after about 10 minutes, by the way). It was a good time.
So midway through the night Kathy's phone rings and her agent tells her that Motley Crew, who were playing Madison Square Garden that night, were looking for girls to come to their after party. They weren't looking for dancers, and nudity was not part of the deal- they just wanted girls to be at their party. Kathy was told that each friend she brought would be paid $200.
Motley Crew is PAYING girls to come out to party with them now? How sad.
