I called an actor tonight who was cast for the show I'm working on this past Monday. Monday. It's now Wednesday. I called to tell him when he'd be working and get him a script. He said he had no idea what I was talking about.
I said "I have a deal memo here that says you've been cast on the show?"
"No idea. What show did you say?"
"Nurse Jackie"
"Never heard of it. Who cast it?"
"Julie Tucker"
"Never heard of her.
Odd. So I call Julie Tucker and tell her. Not only did she talk to him herself to cast him. She saw him when he was WORKING on the show as an extra and thought he had the right look for the part. So he WORKED here already. Was pulled aside by the casting director, given a principal role. And he doesn't remember.
So Julie calls him. She says "I'm the person who talked to you the day you were working on the hospital set."
"Oh THAT'S 'Nurse Jackie"!"
Yeah.
I love that.
