Good intentions.
Not really worth much, are they?
I had every intention of attending the tattoo convention this weekend. I really, really wanted to. I had a killer week at work, though. I started almost everyday at 5:30 or 6 and got home around midnight. And when I tried getting up to make the drive to Philly my body kept asking "Where the fuck do you think YOU'RE going?"
I tried arguing with it a few times. I really did. "But...but..Maxi is there!" I said. "And Clover! And McKenzie! And everyone else!"
"If you can go without me you're welcome to,"my body responded. "But I ain't going."
This argument went on for most of the day. I lost. I'm sorry to everyone I told I would be there. The spirit was SO willing but the rest of me was nowhere near in shape to do any such thing.
That was pretty indicative of my weekend as a whole, actually. I went to a really stupid, annoying party on Saturday night and missed out on a great night with some other friends. Missed a friend who is only here for the weekend on Friday. That kinda stuff.
But on the other hand Prince was great at the halftime show last night. That guy's amazing. He can play the guitar like Hendrix, the bass like Bootsy Collins and every other instrument as well. He's got Springsteen's stage presence, the Beatles creativity and way with a pop song, and can bring the funk like James Brown. He sings about sex in a way that Justin Timberlake dreams of and God in a way that U2 could never pull off. And he hasn't aged a day since 1984. What the fuck?
