So I kind of figured that I hadn't been tagged yet because everyone knew that there aren't 20 interesting things about me. But apparently Moirae didn't figure that out, so here goes...
1. I was born at home, with a midwife, in the same house my dad still lives in.
2. My parents never got married, but were together until I was 5. From then until I was 15, they only lived a block away from each other.
3. My first word was either balloon or shoe. My parents can't remember.
4. I used to watch Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman religiously.
5. I used to have weird OCD tendencies, like how many squares of toilet paper to use, the proper way to open chips or candy bars, and how to arrange my cloest (specific hanger colors for different items of clothing, etc.). At some point my laziness won out over my craziness.
6. Last year I listened to nothing but Modest Mouse for four months.
7. I think of myself as a romantic, but deep down I believe all marriages are doomed to fail.
8. I am almost always convinced that no one likes me. This often includes my friends and family.
9. I've had two brushes with semi-celebrity: I gave Huey Lewis directions to Starbucks, and I got in John Waters' way in a bookstore. He said (and I quote): "Excuse me."
10. I'm so scared of being wrong that I will almost never make decisions unless I absolutely have to.
11. I stopped eating meat two years ago, but I'll never be completely vegetarian because I love mashed potatoes and gravy too much.
12. Holding babies scares me because I always imagine dropping them and their heads splattering open on the ground.
13. I've had four boyfriends in my life. Chronologically, they are: a high school dropout, a former gang member, a Quaker Marxist Boy Scout, and a guy with a facial tattoo who broke up with me to walk across the country. I think that list pretty much explains why I've gotten so picky this time around.
14. When I was little I wanted to be a Paleontologist and dig up dinosaur bones.
15. I hate being in crowds, and sometimes have panic attacks when it gets too overwhelming. The only exception is bars when I'm drinking.
16. I've decided, at various times, that my true calling was to be: a glassblower, a union leader, a waitress in Jamaica, and a gypsy.
17. I went to art school for two years to study fashion design. I quit partly because I couldn't imagine ever having the guts to show anyone something I designed.
18. I hate sleeping alone more than almost anything on earth.
19. My sister is the only person I've ever met who is lazier than I am.
20. There are two people in my life (aside from family) who have meant everything to me. I considered them both soulmates of a sort. I no longer speak to either one of them.
