Hmmm...
I have been playing some horn recently... (yes I'm an orchestral french horn player, no gutter mind... yet) and have been struggling to figure out what steps to take to actually become a fully functional professional. I seem to be stuck part way between practicing my ass off to the point of frustration or maybe going back to school to take a masters degree. Freelancing is a stressful life as work can come and go at a moment's notice.
Guess I should just buckle down and get to work until I have a better plan. Music inspires me BUT sometimes the rest of life can be a little drab. Tough to crack a lame routine!
If any of you musicians (classical, jazz, punk, metal... you name it) have pointers on practice, musical life or anything else, I'm all ears! Sometimes the best advice comes from artists immersed in a different genre. Different music, different perspective, same passion!
